How do I buy a Windows RDP with Bitcoin, step by step?

Seven steps, from a new account to your first Remote Desktop session. No SSH key and no card are needed.

  1. Create an account

Create an account in the Onyxpane client area and store the account number it gives you. Your account number is how you sign in, so store it carefully. With an optional email on file you can recover it; with no email, a lost number is gone for good.

  2. Choose a plan, a location and a Windows edition

Pick a plan on how much a Windows RDP costs at Onyxpane. Choose New York, London, Amsterdam or Frankfurt, then Windows Server 2022 Standard and Windows Server 2025 Standard.

  3. Choose Bitcoin as the coin

Select BTC on the payment page. The top-up is set to the plan price, or to the $25 minimum for a cheaper plan. The page shows the address and the exact BTC amount, held for a limited time.

  4. Send the exact amount, then click "I've sent the payment"

Send exactly the amount shown, down to the last decimal, on-chain to the address shown. Then click "I've sent the payment". The exact amount is how your payment is found and matched to your order.

  5. Wait for the network confirmations

Your payment is checked on the blockchain. The order goes ahead once the Bitcoin network has confirmed it; the table below gives the usual time. A higher network fee gets the first confirmation sooner.

  6. Get your server

A person creates your server after your payment is confirmed, so it is not instant; your dashboard shows the status, then the IP address and the Administrator password once the server is running.

  7. Connect by Remote Desktop

You log in as Administrator over Remote Desktop on port 3389; the temporary password appears in your dashboard and you change it at first login. The steps for each device are on how do I connect to a Windows RDP from Windows.

How long does a Bitcoin payment take to confirm?

The same five steps apply to every coin. The table gives the confirmations each network needs and the usual time.

  1. Top up $25 or more

Choose the amount and the coin (BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC). The crypto amount and its rate are locked for 30 minutes.

  2. Send it to the address shown, on the exact network

The payment page shows our deposit address for the coin and network you picked: BTC on Bitcoin, USDT on Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20), USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20), ETH on Ethereum, SOL on Solana, LTC on Litecoin. Send only that coin on that network: funds sent on another network or in another coin can’t be recovered. The network fee comes on top of the amount.

  3. Send the exact amount shown, then click “I’ve sent the payment”

Each top-up has its own exact amount (down to the last decimals): that is how we find your payment and link it to your account.

  4. Credited once your payment is checked on the blockchain

Your balance is credited once we have checked the transaction on the blockchain, after the network has confirmed it. Typical network confirmation times:

    CryptoNetworkConfirmationsUsual time
    BTCBitcoin2≈ 20 min
    USDTTron (TRC-20)20≈ 1 min
    USDTEthereum (ERC-20)12≈ 5 min
    USDCEthereum (ERC-20)12≈ 5 min
    ETHEthereum12≈ 5 min
    SOLSolana1≈ 1 min
    LTCLitecoin6≈ 15 min
  5. Get your Windows RDP

Pick a plan, a location and a Windows version, and the top-up is set to the plan price, or to the minimum for a cheaper plan. Once the payment is confirmed, a person creates your server; its IP address and Administrator password appear in your dashboard. Credit on your balance does not expire and renews any of your Windows servers. When a top-up is only made to reach the minimum, the unspent part comes back on request within 30 days of payment, in USDT or USDC. The rest of a balance is not paid out unless the law requires it.

Closed the tab? The pending top-up stays under Billing in your account: open it to see the address and the exact amount again.

Which wallet can I pay from?

Any wallet that sends on-chain BTC works, including an exchange withdrawal. A wallet you control is simpler: you set the exact amount and the fee yourself.

  • Your own wallet: paste the address, type the exact amount, choose the fee and send.
  • An exchange account: check whether it takes its withdrawal fee out of the amount. If it does, the payment arrives short; add the fee or send from your own wallet.
  • A Lightning wallet: not usable here. Send on-chain instead.

At Onyxpane, a Bitcoin payment is matched by its exact amount, so what arrives must equal the payment page to the last decimal. After pasting the address, compare its first and last six characters with the page. Keep the transaction ID (TXID) from your wallet history in case support needs it.

Can I pay for a Windows RDP with Bitcoin Lightning?

No, not at Onyxpane: Bitcoin is accepted on-chain only. Lightning is rare among Windows hosts anyway.

According to Onyxpane's check of 30 October 2026, 4 of 40 Windows VPS hosts accept Lightning, against 32 for on-chain Bitcoin. The four are:

  • Bit.Hosting: Windows from $9.00 a month for 2 vCPU / 4 GB / 40 GB NVMe, license included, in 12 countries.
  • HostSailor: Lightning through CoinGate. Windows costs $5.00 a month extra and runs in the Netherlands only.
  • VPSBG: BTC and Lightning only. The Windows license is a monthly fee per vCPU, in Bulgaria only.
  • MyNymBox: Windows needs your own license, and every Windows-capable plan was out of stock.

How much does a Windows RDP cost in Bitcoin?

Plans are priced in US dollars, and the payment page converts the price to BTC at the moment you pay. Onyxpane charges RDP 2 $6.74, RDP 4 $9.75, RDP 8 $21.00, RDP 16 $37.50, RDP 32 $82.50 per 30 days, Windows license included.

Onyxpane's RDP 2 costs $6.74 for 30 days, 25% below the cheapest comparable no-KYC crypto Windows plan found on 30 October 2026. That plan was RDP.monster at $8.99; the median of 17 hosts was $22.25.

A plan cheaper than the $25 minimum still needs a $25 top-up. Credit on your balance does not expire and renews any of your Windows servers. When a top-up is only made to reach the minimum, the unspent part comes back on request within 30 days of payment, in USDT or USDC. The rest of a balance is not paid out unless the law requires it.

What happens after I pay?

Your Windows server runs for 30 days, then renews from your balance when auto-renew is on. Reboots and reinstalls are requested from your dashboard. No automatic backups are included: keep your own copies of anything that matters.

Most buyers next secure the server: see how do I secure Remote Desktop on a Windows VPS.

Is paying for a Windows RDP with Bitcoin private?

Partly. Onyxpane asks for no name and keeps no logs, but every Bitcoin payment stays public. Bitcoin.org states that all Bitcoin transactions are public, traceable and permanently stored in the network.

Anyone who knows your sending address can follow its payments, and the exchange that sold you the coins knows who you are. Incoming payments are checked against public sanctions lists of blockchain addresses; a payment from a listed address is not credited. What no KYC and crypto hide, and what they leave, is on whether a Windows RDP paid in crypto is really private.
